Profile Senior Buyer

We currently seek a Senior Buyer for one of our clients. The Senior Buyer is the primary procurement consultant and therefore responsible for all procurement activities, including purchasing, subcontracts, expediting and traffic. In order to ensure the performance of the business activities according to terms and conditions, the Senior Buyer provides external resources, goods and services.

Tasks & responsibilities
  • Prepare and monitor man-hour budgets, planning, quality standards and progress reports for all procurement activities.
  • Establish the project procurement requirements.
  • Prepare procurement plan, based on procedures, practices, standards and contractual requirements.
  • Direct and guid project team members and coach junior buyers on all project related procurement matters.
  • Safeguard the company’s as well as the client’s interests during the project.
  • Main focal point on all procurement related matters between sellers, subcontractors and clients;
  • Incorporate and raise awareness in regards to Quality Management System and HSE procedures in daily work.
  • Identify deficiencies and make proposals for improvements for the benefit of Quality Management System and HSE procedures.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge in regard to local and international sellers and subcontractor market, finance aspects, letters of credit, transport documents and more.

Requirements Senior Buyer

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in purchasing and sub-contracting for supplier within Oil & Gas market.
  • Experience in process equipment related field, such as the Oil & Gas and Offshore wind industry.
  • Experience with contracting of capital-intensive projects.
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up services.
  • Excellent command of the English language, written and spoken.
  • In possession of a valid VCA or VCA-VOL certificate or willingness to acquire these.
  • Competences: communicative, cooperative, result- and customer-oriented, trustworthy, flexible, tidy, accurate, professional knowledge, patient, training ability, leadership skills, ability to build relationships, commercially driven.
