We are looking for a Unit Head Coating to supervise and manage all coating-related activities within the Pipeline Production Department. In this role, you will ensure these activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and following project specifications.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Assign the Coating Engineer to tenders and projects; maintain personnel planning within the coating disciplines and onshore Training Centre (TRC).
  • Approve coating methods, equipment, and consumables; ensure timely and cost-effective production as required.
  • Plan, approve, and manage the timing and duration of coating activities at the TRC.
  • Collect and analyse pipeline production data; advise the Manager of Production.
  • Monitor daily progress of ongoing production on vessels or work sites.
  • Provide tender input as requested by the Proposals Department.
  • Familiarise with project requirements, define associated strategies and contribute to project preparations with the department.
  • Liaise with vessel coordinators on project preparations.
  • Inform the supervisor on vessels or work sites of potential non-conformant or non-efficient coating practices.
  • Perform interdisciplinary checks on project-specific and general installation procedures.
  • Ensure adequate follow-up of problems encountered by vessels offshore.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of coating codes.
  • Maintain and expand technical and practical knowledge of production coating processes and equipment, including application of contract specifications, procedures, personnel qualifications, and new or modified techniques.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the coating disciplines.

Requirements Unit Head Coating

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, coating industry, or non-destructive testing, preferably in an offshore environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing a department.
  • Knowledge of S-lay pipeline installation in general.
  • In-depth knowledge of pipeline production methods.
  • Understanding of requirements involving proposals, projects, and subcontracts.
