Structural Engineer

Are you a Structural Engineer with experience managing all necessary engineering activities related to structural steel designs and installations for multidisciplinary projects?

For one of our clients, an engineering & technology company serving the Energy & Power sector, we are looking for a Structural Engineer to lead the structural engineering design for furnace/structural steel designs and modular concepts.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Lead the team in the structural engineering design for furnace/steel designs and modular concepts.
• You're the focal point for structural steel engineering issues where you can advise/guide/instruct and support other Structural Engineers.
• Work closely with Lead Engineers, Designers, and Project Engineers to ensure the structural design is compliant with the required codes and standards.
• Responsible for all necessary engineering activities related to the structural (furnace) steel analysis.
• Optimise design and engineering activities to achieve the lowest possible cost without comprising safety, quality, and project requirements.
• Lead and coordinate temporary and permanent structural and dynamic analysis for (sea) transport modules with third parties.
• Maintain and update work instructions.
• Review and collaborate on work performed by (Furnace) Steel Designers in 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Coach new (Furnace) Engineers and advise, inform and report on the development of documents and engineering tools.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, preferably specialising in Structural Steel Engineering.
• At least 5 years of work experience in a similar function.
• Knowledge of international standards related to structural steel and stack design, such as Eurocodes, AISC, ASME-STC, and CICIND.
• Familiar with design software and 3D model review tools, such as Staat Pro, and PDS Frameworks, and 2D drafting software such as AutoCAD or Microstation.
• You can communicate in English at C1-level and preferably Dutch as well.
