Profiel Electrical Project Engineer
Do you enjoy turning E-plan schematics and load studies into cranes that actually move steel at sea? Ready to own the electrical scope (LV/MV power, drives and controls) from first concept to offshore commissioning?
-
We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to design, integrate and deliver electrical & control systems for ram-luffing and special-purpose cranes used in marine/offshore wind projects. From calculations and schematics to supplier follow-up, FAT and CE/functional-safety compliance, you keep quality, schedule and stakeholders aligned.
-
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Translate functional specs into electrical concepts, block diagrams and detailed E-plan P8 schematics (single/multi-line, wiring, cable/cable lists, I/O).
- Perform load/diversity, short-circuit and selectivity studies; size cables, breakers, transformers and protection (LV/MV).
- Specify motors, VFDs, switchgear, instrumentation; integrate rotating equipment and motion/drive systems (hoist, luffing, slew, auxiliaries).
- Prepare BOMs and purchase specs, review vendor proposals, manage panel builders and other 3rd parties, perform shop inspections & FAT.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 60204-1, IEC 60092, ATEX; execute risk assessments (ISO 12100) and contribute to SIL/PIL per IEC 62061/13849.
- Deliver as-built documentation, CE files, test protocols and user manuals, support installation, site commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Act as work-package lead: plan deliverables, track progress/changes, communicate with mechanical, hydraulics, software and project management.
- Improve templates/workflows and E-plan standards to accelerate design-to-installation.
Vereisten Electrical Project Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or similar.
- 3-7 years' experience with LV/MV power & control for heavy machinery, cranes, marine/offshore or comparable equipment.
- Proficiency with E-plan P8 (AutoCAD Electrical a plus); able to read/produce panel layouts and detailed schematics.
- Familiar with PLC/SCADA environments (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal/WinCC) and industrial networks (PROFINET/Profibus).
- Solid grasp of protection coordination, earthing/bonding, and marine conditions.
- Supplier management and inspection experience; willing to travel (~20%) for FAT/Site commissioning.
- Strong English communication, Dutch or German is a plus.
- VCA (or willingness to obtain); offshore medical/BOSIET beneficial.
