Senior Buyer

We are looking for a Senior Buyer who can strategically manage high-value technical procurement for complex yacht-building and lifecycle projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement for technical packages within newbuild and lifecycle projects.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiation and contract management for high-value materials, components and services.
• Work closely with engineering, project management and lifecycle support teams to align procurement needs with technical specifications.
• Monitor supplier performance and secure timely delivery of critical items to meet demanding project schedules.
• Drive cost optimisation without compromising quality, safety or design intent.
• Assess risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to procurement strategy, category planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Guide and support junior buyers in the team when needed.

• HBO, preferably in a technical or commercial field.
• Several years of experience in a senior procurement or strategic purchasing role.
• Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications and engineering terminology.
• Proven experience negotiating with specialised suppliers in a project-driven environment (maritime, offshore, heavy-industry or similar).
• Skilled in contract management, supplier agreements and long-term partnership building.
• Ability to balance cost, quality, risk and delivery in high-complexity projects.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management across engineering, projects, and operations.
• Proactive, structured, and able to maintain oversight across multiple running projects.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
