Environmental & Social (E&S) Project Engineer

We are looking for an Environmental & Social (E&S) Project Engineer to lead environmental and social compliance across the project lifecycle, harmonising standards, running audits and action plans, and coordinating stakeholder and lender reporting to keep the project fully compliant and on track.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Act as deputy to the Project E&S Manager, supporting overall E&S strategy and delivery.
• Harmonise and interpret regulations/standards across locations, ensuring consistent application project-wide.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Construction and Operational ESMPs, track progress and close actions.
• Own E&S documentation (plans, reports, registers) for FPSO projects, ensure accuracy and timely updates.
• Run internal and supplier/yard audits, verify compliance, raise NCRs, define corrective actions, and drive closure.
• Manage E&S risk follow-up from ESDD, monitor ESAP items with action owners until completion.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement: internal PMT and Finance, ESG banks/lenders/ECAs, third-party advisors (e.g., ERM).
• Prepare and consolidate reporting: pre-operational monitoring, monthly KPI collections, and annual progress reports.
• Plan and host training on E&S requirements and responsibilities for project teams and partners.
• Maintain the Action Tracker, expedite late tasks and provide status to leadership.
• Support site visits (yards/offshore) and related evidence gathering for lender or advisor monitoring campaigns.
• Interface with Finance on E&S-related commitments, covenants, and disclosures.
• Serve as a focal point for E&S queries, providing timely guidance to project and operations teams

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Law, Business or related. Master's or E&S certification preferred.
• 5+ years in Environmental & Social (ESG/E&S) delivery for complex, multi-national projects (O&G/offshore is a plus!).
• Direct experience with ESMP/ESAP development and implementation, ESDD follow-up, and audit execution.
• Strong command of E&S regulations, lender standards and frameworks (e.g., IFC Performance Standards/Equator Principles).
• Proven stakeholder management with cross-functional teams, lenders/ECAs, and third-party advisors.
• Hands-on with NCR/CAPA processes, KPIs, and evidence-based compliance reporting.
• Excellent document control and reporting skills, comfortable leading reviews and consolidating inputs across teams.
• Strong communication (written/verbal), training facilitation, and change management mindset.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and audits, able to operate across time zones.
• Organised, proactive, and deadline-driven, with high attention to detail and follow-through.
