We are looking for a Heavy Lift Engineer specialising in designing and engineering solutions for the installation and removal of large offshore wind structures.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in a multidisciplinary agile team of Structural Engineers, Heavy Lift Engineers, Naval Architects, and raftsmen to drive the concept development, and basic and detailed engineering phases for the installation of topsides and jacket structures up to 60,000 tonnes.
  • Engage in the design and engineering process, from the fabrication of groundbreaking lifting tools and supports to the preparation of procedures and manuals, extending to on-site support during yard and offshore execution.
  • Analyse and prepare project specifications for offshore transportation and installation operations, including yard preparations, load-out, barge transfer, and tow operations.
  • Prepare design calculations and design reports for all structural heavy lift design work, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop procedures and prepare manuals for load-out, transfer, mooring, tow, installation, and transportation operations.
  • Interface with various disciplines, including project teams, vessel crew, clients, subcontractors, certification authorities, and marine warranty surveyors, to define efficient and cost-effective solutions, and provide ongoing engineering support.
  • Develop modern solutions to contribute to the energy transition in offshore wind, staying ahead of specialised equipment developments for installation operations.
  • Conduct FEED and feasibility studies to identify the best solutions for single-lift installation or removal of large topsides and jackets over 5,000 tonnes.
  • Prepare method and execution statements for commercial bids for new projects, contributing to business development efforts.
  • Design lifting gear, including spreader bars, rigging, pad eyes, and internal/external lifting tools, ensuring safety and efficiency in lifting operations.
  • Perform inspections at fabrication yards to confirm the condition of platforms and the feasibility of proposed installation methodologies.
  • Prepare factory acceptance and commissioning tests for project equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance with project specifications.

Requirements Heavy Lift Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Maritime Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred but not a prerequisite.
    • Recent graduates with a strong academic background and a passion for the field are encouraged to apply!
  • Affinity with the offshore renewables and/or marine environment is highly valued.
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore as part of the job requirements.
  • Fluency in English is essential for effective communication within the team and with international partners.
  • A keen interest in the renewable industry and commitment to contributing to the energy transition.
  • A team player who is motivated to take on technical challenges and contribute to collaborative solutions.
  • Self-starter with creative and analytical skills, capable of initiating and driving projects forward.
