Are you experienced in translating complex FEM analyses into build-ready drawings and in structural design for mission-critical wind, subsea, or heavy-lift transport projects?

We are looking for a Lead Engineer Marine Steel Structures to design, analyse, and verify temporary steel solutions for complex offshore operations, lead a small team of engineers, and ensure compliance with class rules and client requirements.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Lead the design and verification of temporary steel structures for offshore vessels and transport.
- Define scopes, budgets, and timelines together with project managers and clients.
- Prepare and check structural calculations, strength analyses (FEM), and detailed construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with offshore standards, safety requirements and class rules.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and coordinate work packages.
- Maintain client contact throughout the engineering phase and contribute to operational planning.
Requirements Lead Engineer Marine Steel Structures
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar.
- At least 8 years of experience in structural design, preferably in offshore or maritime projects.
- Solid knowledge of offshore loads, transport dynamics, steel structures and material behaviour.
- Proficient with FEM tools, structural analysis software, and 3D CAD packages (e.g., Solid Edge).
- Experienced in leading small teams and technically overseeing complex deliverables.
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing; Dutch is not required.
