We are looking for a Lead Engineer Mechanical to oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and solutions for offshore energy projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Oversee the development and design of mechanical systems for offshore energy projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
• Lead a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and direction to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project execution and optimal design solutions.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of mechanical projects from concept through design, development, testing, and implementation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies throughout the mechanical engineering processes.
• Conduct technical reviews and analyses to validate design choices and ensure the reliability and durability of mechanical systems in offshore environments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical engineering department, leveraging the latest technologies and engineering practices.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scopes, requirements, and timelines, ensuring clear communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Provide technical expertise in the selection of materials, components, and equipment, optimising for performance, costs, and sustainability.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with additional certifications or qualifications in project management or leadership, is an advantage!
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a track record of successful project management and technical problem-solving within offshore or related industries.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to guide and motivate a team of engineers.
• Excellent communication and information management capabilities, capable of effectively managing project details and acting as a primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
• A positive and motivated personality, with a strong commitment to driving projects forward and overcoming engineering challenges.
• Fluency in Dutch is highly desirable, complemented by a strong proficiency in English to facilitate clear and effective communication within a diverse work environment.
