Profile Pipeline Test Engineer

Can you turn complex pressure testing scopes into clear, safe, and executable procedures? Do you have a strong HSE mindset for chemicals, discharges, and environmental compliance?

-

We are looking for a Pipeline Test Engineer to plan, execute, and certify pipeline pre-commissioning and pressure testing (FCG, hydrotest, dewatering, drying), ensuring integrity, safety, and compliance onshore and offshore.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Own the testing scope from preparation to close-out: write procedures/ITPs/test packs for flooding, cleaning & gauging, hydrotests, dewatering, drying and leak tests.
  • Perform engineering calculations (test pressures, volumes, pump/compressor sizing, temperature/pressure compensation) and define instrumentation and data-logging.
  • Mobilise and lead testing spreads and subcontractors; coordinate with vessel/field teams, plan SIMOPS, permits and environmental controls (discharge, chemicals).
  • Supervise site execution, monitor data in real time, troubleshoot issues, verify calibrations, and issue test certificates and punch-list actions.
  • Report progress and compile final dossiers/as-built documentation, interface with client, third-party verifiers and project controls.

Requirements Pipeline Test Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Offshore/Marine Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in pipeline pre-commissioning/pressure testing in an offshore or marine environment.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant codes/standards (e.g., DNV-ST-F101, ISO 13623, ASME B31.4/B31.8) and acceptance criteria.
  • Hands-on with pigging, hydrotest pumps, compressors/nitrogen drying, gauges/transducers and data-logging; strong hydraulics/pressure calculation skills.
  • Proven ability to produce clear procedures, ITPs, P&IDs/test packs and close-out reports; proficient with MS Office and basic planning tools.
  • Strong HSE mindset (chemical handling, environmental compliance); excellent communication and stakeholder coordination.
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore; valid offshore medical/survival certificates preferred.
