We are looking for a Senior Buyer to lead strategic sourcing and procurement for turnkey projects. In this role, you will manage RFQs, negotiations, and end-to-end PO execution to secure the best cost, schedule, quality, and contractual outcomes.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Act as a primary liaison with vendors on assigned turnkey projects or fleet vessels.
- Implement global sourcing strategies and set up RFQs in compliance with corporate processes.
- Analyse market trends and vendor capabilities; ensure all bidders are qualified before issuing RFQS.
- Liaise with Category Managers to leverage pre-agreed terms and escalate vendor issues for strategic sourcing improvements.
- Lead the tendering phase: coordinate clarifications, normalise bids, and manage negotiations to secure optimal commercial and contractual terms.
- Develop detailed cost breakdowns and schedules; identify savings opportunities and obtain internal approvals.
- Prepare comprehensive commercial bid evaluations with clear recommendations for purchase, including risk/opportunity assessments.
- Provide end-to-end commercial support through PO execution: negotiate Variation Orders, manage claims, and ensure timely delivery of vendor documents.
- Monitor vendor performance, conduct root-cause analyses on quality issues, and drive corrective actions with stakeholders.
- Expedite vendor support through pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, and lead handover sessions to completion teams.
- Support and mentor Junior Buyers and Category Buyers on project-specific procurement activities.
- Track and report on procurement budget performance (actual vs. forecast) and escalate cost, schedule, or quality issues early.
Requirements Senior Buyer
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles, preferably in offshore, EPC, or shipbuilding environments.
- Proven track records leading RFQs, commercial negotiations, and PO close-out processes.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in cost breakdowns, forecasting, and earned-value techniques.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to collaborate across disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to drive savings and manage contractual risks (Variation Orders, claims negotiation).
- Familiarity with procurement systems and processes (e.g., SAP, GEMS/SAPHYRE).
- Leadership experience, including monitoring junior team members and coordinating cross-functional activities.
- Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.
