Profile Senior Marine Designer
Do you enjoy solving impossible routing puzzles in cramped naval spaces? Can you translate requirements into clean 3D models, tame clashes across disciplines, and guide junior designers while partnering closely with a Lead Engineer?
-
We are looking for a Senior Marine Designer to turn complex marine requirements into constructible piping layouts and 3D models. You'll own routing and space management, deliver the full design package, and coach junior designers.
-
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Lead piping routing and 3D modelling for marine systems on naval vessels, floating offshore units and special vessels.
- Translate requirements into clear specifications, concepts and basic designs with the Lead Engineer.
- Produce and review layout models and drawings (arrangements, isometrics/spools, supports, demolition/modify).
- Own space management access/maintainability, clash detection, interfaces with structures/E&A/HVAC/outfitting.
- Prepare MTO/BOMs, support class/package reviews and respond to comments.
- Coordinate with suppliers and co-makers; review vendor data and integrate into the model.
- Guide junior designers; act as a sparring partner to the Lead Engineer and contribute to methods and standards.
- Balance quality, schedule and cost; flag risks and propose practical design improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and change control across your work packages.

- Comfortable reading P&IDs and converting them into constructible layouts and isometrics.
