We are looking for a Structural Hull Engineer who specialises in designing, analysing, and inspecting hull structures for FPSOs. As a Structural Hull Engineer, you will ensure that the hulls are strong, durable, and compliant with industry standards. The role also involves supporting technological and sustainable advancements in offshore floating production solutions.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Design structural aspects of tanker conversions and new build hulls for FPSO projects, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct strength verifications for tanker conversions and new build hulls of FPSO projects to ensure safety and durability.
  • Support the Technology Development department by contributing to the development of new products and technology for FPSO, FLNG, and renewable product lines.
  • Assist the vessel acquisition department in selecting donor tankers for conversion to FPSO or FLNG, based on structural integrity and suitability.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of hull structure and marine equipment for FPSOs, facilitating clear communication and precise engineering execution.
  • Perform offshore inspections of tankers and provide yard support during the conversion and new build projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Engage in proposals and pre-FEED studies of new concepts related to FPSO designs and technology developments, contributing to innovative solutions.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge and expertise within the Structural Hull discipline to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the structural designs meet the overall project goals and comply with industry regulations.

Requirements Structural Hull Engineer

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Offshore Structures, Naval Architecture, or a related field, with a specialisation in structural analysis of floating structures.
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant working experience in structural analysis for both global and detailed hull structures.
  • Familiarity with the rules of major classification societies, such as ABS, DNV, GL, BV, and Llyods.
  • Proficiency in Engineering & Design of floating units within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Skills in VBA programming in MS Office for engineering tasks and analysis.
  • Preferably experienced in using finite element software, FEMAP, for structural analysis.
  • A proactive approach to taking on tasks and challenges, with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise work effectively to meet commitments aligned with organisational goals.
  • Resilience in facing setbacks and adversity, with the capability to rebound from difficult situations.
  • Agility and openness to new technology and sustainable developments in the offshore and marine sectors.
  • A team player who contributes to the expertise and knowledge within the Structural Hull discipline and actively engages in continuous learning and improvement.
