Can you lead repair & maintenance, and modification efforts, from planning through execution, to optimise vessel availability and efficiency?

We are looking for a Technical Superintendent to oversee and manage the maintenance, repairs, compliance, and budgeting for assigned vessels, ensuring they remain safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret relevant legislation from flag states, classification societies, IMO, and other regulatory bodies; initiate compliance actions.
- Use business intelligence dashboards (e.g., downtime, cost control, inventory, asset management) to inform decision-making.
- Ensure assigned vessel(s) are fit for purpose through regular assessments of performance, safety, and sustainability.
- Prepare and manage annual repair maintenance (R&M) and investment budgets for assigned assets.
- Coordinate daily R&M activities onboard assigned vessel(s), working closely with Technical Department staff and other disciplines.
- Act as Project Manager for R&M, damage repairs, modifications, and project preparations on assigned assets.
- Propose and implement standardisation of work methods and procedural improvements within the Technical Department.
- Review and approve purchase orders and invoices for assigned assets according to the authorisation matrix.
- Contribute to yearly reporting on technical status, including the preparation of Vessel Inspection Sheets.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the vessel crew and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements Technical Superintendent
- BSc or MSc degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical role within a maritime company.
- Solid knowledge of classification agency rules and IMO regulations.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, coordinate complex maintenance projects, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both shipboard and shore-based teams.
- Willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives and sustainability projects within the fleet.
