Do you have experience in developing precise budget forecasts and managing complex project costs? Can you identify cost-saving opportunities in large-scale projects?


We are looking for a Project Cost Estimator to develop, manage, and track detailed project cost estimates and budgets, ensuring all costs align with project objectives, and providing regular financial reports and forecasts to aid management decisions throughout the project lifecycle.


Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project cost estimates and budgets, ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive periodic project cost reporting, providing analysis and recommendations to guide project direction.
  • Validate and analyse Project KPIs through controls reporting such as Earned Value Management and Cost Performance Index.
  • Prepare accurate project cost reports, including forecasts and performance analyses, for management review.
  • Collaborate with EPCM/PMC contractors to gather and verify project cost data, ensuring alignment with plans and schedules.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to update and build reliable project cost forecasts.
  • Analyse budget variances and potential risks, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain and update cost breakdown structures, cost codes, and reporting formats to improve accuracy.
  • Monitor project progress against budgets, tracking costs and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage change control and man-hour control procedures and tools.
  • Process contractor, vendor, and sub-consultant invoices and payments, and handle related inquiries.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reconcile accounts for month-end reporting.

Vereisten Project Cost Estimator

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Project Cost Estimator in multi-billion-dollar complex projects, particularly in EPCM-managed projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, cost control methodologies, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in ERP/IT tools such as SAP, BW, and Power BI, with advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Ability to see the big picture and detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in deliverables.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and working under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills in presenting complex financial information.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently and in a team.
  • Fluent in English, with knowledge of Dutch being a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to Spain (Madrid and/or Bilbao) and availability for the project duration of 3-4 years.
